Arlen D. Eichenberg, age 77 of Remus passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at his home. He was born December 26, 1930 in Paris to Arthur and Lottie (Forsythe) Eichenberg. Arlen graduated from Reed City High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. He married Dolores Brennan of Paris on February 27, 1954. Together they made their home in Remus for over 40 years. Arlen was retired from MichCon. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Remus, the Albert Doerr Knights of Columbus Council and the Albert Schiffer V.F.W. Post #2335 of Mecosta. He is survived by his wife Dolores of Remus Children; Diane Eichenberg of Shelby Township Shari Eichenberg of Big Rapids Arlan Eichenberg of Phoenix, AZ Mary (fianc Don Nowlin) Sanford of Hersey 2 grandsons, Karl (Tabetha) Sanford Jr. of Big Rapids James Nowlin of Hersey A great-granddaughter, Anyia Sanford 2 sisters-in-law; Lucille Eichenberg of Grand Rapids Eleanore Eichenberg of Reed City And several nieces and nephews Arlen was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Lynn and Leslie Eichenberg. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19th at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Remus. The family will greet friends at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m. that evening Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. Arrangements are entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
