Obituary

Anna Marie (Esch) Momany Borseth, age 93, passed away on November 6, 2025. She was born on the cusp of midnight, August 12, 1932, in the family farmhouse near Two Rivers. Anne was the eighth of nine children born to Peter and Barbara (Pung) Esch. She graduated with honors from Sherman Township Rural Agricultural School (now Chippewa Hills Public Schools).

Anne married Ross E. Momany, Jr., in 1952, and he preceded her in death, May 13, 1979. She is survived by their children: Deanne (Steve) Stouten, Ross (Sally) Momany, and Kenneth (Anne) Momany, son-in-law Andrew Sajnenkoff. Anne is also survived by beloved children of Earl Borseth, her second husband, whom she married in May 1988: Donald (Patricia Merry) Borseth, Doreen, Steven, Elaine, Michele (Dee) Borseth, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Ross E. Momany, Jr., she was preceded in death by second husband, Earl E. Borseth; daughter, Ruth Sajnenkoff; parents; Peter and Barbara (Pung) Esch; her parents-in-law; sister-in-law; eight brothers and sisters and their spouses, and some nieces and nephews.

Ross joined the U.S. Air Force the same year they married and they travelled extensively. Ross served two isolated and many temporary duty assignments, throughout his twenty (plus) year career. Their favorite tour was three years in Germany, enabling them to visit many European destinations.

Anne was Den mother for her boys through Cubs and Webelos and a "Pop Warner" football Mom and cheered at all Little League games in which her sons participated; a Girl Scout leader through Brownie and Cadets for her girls and, cookie chair for several years, during which cases of cookies filled a room in their home.

She and Rev. Elaine Buker, Pastor of Third Avenue U.M. Church started a Grieving Support Group called Good Grief, which she continued to lead for several years. Anne became the family genealogist, and compiled the Esch/Treirweiler, Esch/Momany; and Esch/Pung family trees.

Anne and her second husband, Earl, travelled extensively after his retirement from teaching.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, November 13, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Northland Global Methodist Church, Stanwood. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Following a luncheon at the church, Anne will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery, Weidman. Memorial Contributions may be made to Northland Global Methodist Church, Green Acres in Greenville, or The Care Team Hospice. Arrangements are in the care of Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes.
