Obituary

Amy Rosabel Rolison, 89, of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011. She was born October 23, 1921 in Railroad Flats, CA to Amos and Carrie (Forbes) Harmon. Amy worked at a defense plant during World War II, the first Meijer store in Greenville and retired from Ferris State University in food service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Rapids, volunteered at Altercare, enjoyed traveling, playing Skipbo, collecting postcards and watching her squirrels. Amy is survived by her son Dale (Lori) Rolison of Ionia; two sons-in-law, Donald Loll and Gary Arnson; seven grandchildren, Kenny (Nancy) Loll of Barryton, Kurt (Dodie) Loll of Roscommon, Roderik Arnson of Hudsonville, Ricquel (Mark) Hinkley of Big Rapids, Tucker Rolison of Norfolk, VA, Travis Rolison of Oklahoma City, OK and Taylor Rolison of Marquette; four great-grandchildren, David (Amanda) Vogel, Rian Arnson, Sidney and Griffin Loll; a nephew, David (Melba) Harmon of Hillsboro, Oregon; and special friends Pat Ward and Lorane Dyer of Big Rapids and Lisa Eklund of Kalamazoo. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Maxine Loll and RosaLee Arnson. Graveside services will take place at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 17, 2011 at West Cemetery in Big Rapids with Pastor David Westover officiating. Memorial contributions in Amy's name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Big Rapids or Mecosta County Commission on Aging. Arrangements entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
