Amy Elizabeth Barratt passed way unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at her home near Reed City at age 33. Amy was a well known and loved native of Big Rapids, having lived her whole life in the area.
Amy will be best remembered for her glowing smile and infectious laugh. Her spirit and enthusiasm brought joy wherever she went. She was a loyal friendalways kind, caringand loved without judgement. She was a leader who was hardworking, honest, and dedicated, and her energy was so contagious that everyone wanted to be around her. Amy would always go the extra mile for anyone.
Amy was a proud graduate of Big Rapids High School (2006), a three-sport, four-year athlete, and along with earning varsity letters and pins in basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was awarded numerous All-Conference, Coach, and Team awards. Softball was Amys first love, which contributed to her teams success. In her junior year she was named the Pioneer Dream Team Player of the Year and in her senior year she was named All State-First Team-First Base. Often the loudest person in the arena, Amy was always, always positive with her chatter and demeanor with teammates and even opponents. She played travel softball for The Rush during high school and played in countless recreation leagues and tournaments.
Amy had worked in recent years providing home care services through the Michigan Department of Human Services.
Amy is survived by her brother, Nathan Barratt; and sister, Kailey Hunt; mother, Sue Hunt (husband Kim); father, Russell Barratt; partner, Bill Curtice, Sr., and his daughter, Jasmyn; and many splendid and loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kelcy; maternal grandparents, Bob and Gil Carion; paternal grandparents, Barry and Elizabeth Barratt; and aunt, Barb Ranoni. She will be sadly missed by so many.
Celebration of Amy's life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Clear Lake Golf Club - Clubhouse, 14777 150th Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307. The family invites friends and loved ones to stop out to share memories, stories, and laughs as we cherish her amazing life. A light meal and refreshments will be served. Cash bar available downstairs.
Cremation has taken place via arrangements of Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Memorial contributions can be made to the Manna Pantry or Angels of Action in Big Rapids.
