Obituary

Alvah "Alvie" Lintemuth, age 81, of Stanwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on April 22, 1943, in Martiny Township, Mecosta County, the son of Kennard and Gertrude (Jehnzen) Lintemuth. On February 18, 1967, at Zion Lutheran Church in Broomfield Township, Alvie married the love of his life, Dianne Maeder. Together they shared 56 years of marriage until her passing in 2023. Alvie was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era. Alvie retired from General Motors Fisher Body in Grand Rapids after 36 years of dedicated service. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and instilled those values in his family. Alvie found joy in lifes simple pleasures: gardening, spending time with family, and playing cardswhere his competitive spirit was well-known. His greatest passion, however, was fishing. Whether on the boat or ice, the water brought him peace, and its comforting to imagine him reeling in the big catches waiting for him beyond this life. Alvie is survived by his children: Shelley Harris, Karen (Matt) Shea, Chet (Yvonne) Lintemuth, Roger (Monica) Lintemuth, Robert (Stephanie) Lintemuth, Jen (Chad) Lintemuth, and his daughter at heart Sara (Morris) Penness; grandchildren: Rebecca, Dillon, David; Brian, Rachel; Brett, Tyler, Sawyer; Taylor, Brandon; and Morgan; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Arlene Oaks-Grosbeck and Donna Truesdell; sister-in-law, Carol Lintemuth; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dianne; grandson, Brett; brothers, Ronald and Theodore. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Remus. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4:008:00 P.M. at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. He will be laid to rest at Stanwood Cemetery.
