Alice R. A. Withers age 98, a lifelong resident of Big Rapids, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022. She was born March 9, 1924, the daughter of Gaylord and Jessie (Peck) Everitt. Alice married Maurice Withers on March 31, 1941. She was a member of Rogers Heights Christian Church, TOPS, and Big Rapids Garden Club. Alice was an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by her six children, Alicia Games of Big Rapids, Phyllis Kailing of Big Rapids, David (Peggy) Withers of Rockford, Jessie (Duane) Kailing of Big Rapids, Dean (Mary) Withers of Big Rapids, and Dale (Dinah) Withers of Chase; daughter-in-law, Lois Withers of DeWitt; 31 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rachel Modrow of Twin Lake and Dorothy Withers of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice Withers in 1985, three children Thomas Withers, Gloria Tague, and Gaylord Withers, and seven siblings. Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Rogers Heights Christian Church. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9th at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Alice will be laid to rest at Goodwell Township Cemetery.
