Alberta Arvilla Wilber, age 86 of Stanwood, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. She was born March 4, 1923 in Austin Township, Mecosta Co., MI to Claud and Nora (Brandow) Sharp. Alberta married William "Bryce" Wilber on February 26, 1942 and they resided most of their lives in the Stanwood area. Following her retirement from Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids Alberta and Bryce enjoyed 24 years at their winter home in Zephyrhills, FL. Alberta attended the Stanwood Free Methodist Church and the Victory Baptist Church in Zephyrhills. She is survived by her four loving children; Carolyn (Keith) Babbitt of Stanwood, Janet (Larry) Woolworth of Parma, Kenneth (Nancy) Wilber of Stanwood, and Ronald Wilber of Elkhart, IN, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Bryce on February 21, 2008, a grandson; Derek Woolworth, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Burial will be at the Stanwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Alberta's name can be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
