Al Jay Cousineau, age 78, died Friday, December 1, 2023 at the hospital in Wyoming, Michigan. He was born April 5, 1945 in Fremont, the son of Emanuel and Marvel (Crandall) Cousineau.
Al Jay served in the United States Navy on the USS Shangri-La as an electronics mechanic. After being honorably discharged in 1969, Al Jay was employed as an electrical engineer for many years. He enjoyed working with his hands; tinkering on cars, tending his garden, and filling his bird feeders. Al Jay loved to tease everyone, but he had a kind heart; loved to help people and take care of his wife, Janet. He was a blessing to his whole family.
Al Jay is finally done stacking wood. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Janet and cherished members of the extended family including sisters and brothers in law and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. The family will greet friends Friday, December 8th from 5:00 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Saturday, all at the Funeral Home.
