Adelbert M. "Delbert" Luther, age 76 of Barryton, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017. He was born March 1, 1941 in Lansing the son of Richard and Isabell (Morse) Luther. Delbert graduated from Sexton High School in 1959. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. Delbert retired from General Motors in 1992 and then began his employment with Odessa Auto Auction in Dimondale for nearly 10 years. He moved to his home near Barryton in 2002 where enjoyed hunting and fishing nearly every day. Delbert was a devout member of the Barryton Church of Christ for over 14 years; he served as a deacon, worked as a custodian and loved discussing the bible with his Pastor. Delbert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nadine Luther of Barryton; children, Michelle Luther Grant and Edward Luther Jr., both of Holt; five granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Korrey of Haslett, Delores Thompke of White Cloud; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Luther Jr. and Edward Luther Sr., and a sister, Sarah Jane Luther. A memorial service will take place 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Barryton Church of Christ with Pastor Rick Lippert officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the Church on Saturday. There will be Military Honors under the Auspices of the United States Army. Memorial contributions in Delberts memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
