Adda Lucille Adams, age 98, formerly of Big Rapids, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at The Lodge at Samaritas in Grand Rapids. She was born Adda Stewart to Ora and Naomi Stewart on May 20, 1918 in Newago County, Goodwell Township. One of seven children, she grew up on a farm until the family moved to Big Rapids in the early years of the Great Depression. Adda graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1935. She worked 25 years at the old Scott Store, where she served as manager during the WWII years, and another 20+ years at Hanchett Manufacturing Company. Adda was a member of and long-time secretary for the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Big Rapids. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers (Lionel and Glen), four sisters (Florence, Ruth, Mildred, and Sylvia), her favorite niece, Patricia, and her best friend, Betty Jernstadt. She is survived by her son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Jody; grandsons, Nick and Sam (her pride and joys); friends and beloved nieces and nephews. Addas love for and dedication to her family was unsurpassed.

A time of fellowship will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. concluding with a short time of remembrance at 4:00 p.m.
