Obituary

Adam Lee Raines, of Chippewa Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the age of 21. Adam was born on March 25, 1991 in Traverse City, Michigan. He is the son of John Jr. and Dawn (Knoertzer) Raines. Adam graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 2010. He was active in football all four years and nicknamed "Rainman" by his coaches and team. Adam was currently employed at Federal Screw in Big Rapids where he was a roll machine operator and has made several friends over the past year. Adam had a love for the outdoors and could often be found enjoying company around a bonfire, hunting or fishing. He loved music, playing games, especially family game night with all his family and friends, he also held great memories from his snowmobile trip with his uncle. Adam's family and friends were a huge part of his life. He is survived by his parents: John and Dawn Raines of Chippewa Lake; sisters, Becky (Bill Bowen) Raines of Chesterfield Twp. and Amy (Frank) Bayle of Chippewa Lake; one brother John (Aubray Persichini) Raines III of Chesterfield Twp.; the nieces and nephews he loved to tease and preferred to call him "Uncle Dweeb" , Trevor and Haley Bayle, Damian, Demetri and Drake Raines; nephew at heart Brendon Swarthout, who called Adam "Uncle Beav" ; grandparents Jack (Norma) Zeno of Bear Lake, many aunts, uncles, cousins, very close friends and not to forget his very special friend who he was just beginning to share his life and heart with Audrey Patton of Barryton. Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncles, David Knoertzer, Gary "Tuck" Tucker of Chippewa Lake and Tim Devereaux of Ohio. Services for Adam will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Father Joe Fix officiating. The family will greet friends two hours prior to services from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Following the services there will be a dinner and bonfire in memory of Adam at the Chippewa Lake Community Building. Please come share your memories and help celebrate his life.
